Assessment and Evaluation

Teachers apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies. Teachers:

Performance Indicators for Teachers:
A. apply technology in assessing student learning or subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.
B. use technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.
C. apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine students' appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication, and productivity.

Reflection:
Today we learned about assistive technology. We had to answer many questions about how a teacher applies technology to assisting her children in learning, including those with learning disabilities. The lesson that we done today falls under standard four, assessment and evaluation. I believe it also goes along with letter A. The teacher applied technology to help her students learn subject matter by using the technology techniques such as WebQuest. I believe that these type of things are very important for a teacher to use in the classroom. Some students will learn better by using technology and other students will remember more about what they learned because the can visualize it.

Today in class we learned how to use web tools. One of the things we learned how to do was to create a rubric. This would be very helpful in grading students on things that they need to do. I really think it will be helpful when I begin to teach. I also learned how to make quizzes online. this will be extremely helpful and easy for me to use when I begin to teach. Sometimes its easier to make your own test. I think this applies to Assessment and Evaluation letter a. I believe it applies because we learned different things to use to create assessment and evaluation.

Future Learning Goals:
I never realized that there was so many assessment styles to use while teaching. I hope to learn all the ways of assessing and use the variety of ways in my classroom. I also want to create my own rubrics for all of my projects. I want to learn how to do that for every subject. I believe that it is better for a teacher to create her own rubric because it is very helpful because the teacher can grade on everything she/he wants to grade on. I will definately use different assessing styles and rubrics when I become a teacher.
